2015/16 Policy and Budget Speech by the Minister of Energy

On the 24th of May 2015, President Jacob Zuma will lead the Africa Day celebrations under the theme “We are Africa – Opening the doors of Learning and Culture from Cape to Cairo.”


South Africa will also host the 25th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Summit. As part of this programme, the Heads of State and Government of the AU will visit the Safari 1 Research Reactor at NECSA in Pelindaba. This is part of South Africa’s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the SAFARI 1 Reactor.

Africa is grappling with the challenges of sustainable development. South Africa is in a unique position to contribute towards the energy security of our own country and our continent through our diversified energy mix in general and our renewable programme in particular.  Read more...




This visit will further serve to highlight South Africa’s successes and efforts to harness the peaceful uses of nuclear energy for broader developmental purposes.

Great Work from Pupils from Yellow Woods Farm School

This great work is from the Yellow Woods Farm School Pupils. We trained the pupils on the importance of solar energy. We then opened a competition to the three phases. The Foundation Phase pupils were given a drawing to colour appropriately. See more...

The Intermediate Phase were given five questioners to answer and they were supplied with answers. The senior Phase were asked to write a composition on Solar Energy. In each Grade we then selected ten pupils who performed better and they were awarded with solar lights to lighten their home's.

While we are busy planning to start a bakery at the Witteklip MPC 9 Community members from Shamrock, Witteklip and Fitches Corner Community will be taken for training on how to bake on Wednesday 13 May 2015.

Financial Literacy Training





Mr Modisa from FSB
Financial Services Board conducted a follow up training with the community members. The community members in attendance gave feed back on how the first training changed their lives the better. FSB gave a full training on how to budget your funds. In attendance we also had the Ward counsellor . See more...

 
After the training a couple of senior citizens asked Mr Modisa to come back again in the near future as they think other senior citizen's who were not in attendance need this training. They mentioned that they are going to give them a report of what they benefitted from this training.
